Job Overview
The successful candidate will lead the Digital team within the Land Development business unit, responsible for digital delivery across infrastructure and master planning projects in the Middle East for AtkinsRéalis. This position ensures adherence to client requirements and project standards, offering digital leadership, quality control, and coordination across multiple disciplines including Roads, Utilities, Civil Structures, Landscape, GIS, and Master Planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the digital team's daily activities with a focus on progressive quality assurance.
- Provide support to the Business Unit Director of Land Development.
- Maintain collaboration with regional digital leads across various functions such as Buildings, Automation, R&D, GIS, and Program Advisory.
- Ensure technical and commercial input on Information Management is included in land development proposals.
- Keep the resource planning updated reflecting current and upcoming projects.
- Coordinate team recruitment aligned with resource plans alongside HR.
- Manage and report all agreed digital KPIs related to land development.
- Collaborate with discipline leads and managers to establish and uphold best digital practices.
- Support strategic departmental initiatives within the business unit.
- Develop the annual digital strategy for land development as part of the overall regional digital strategy.
- Lead and support global ISO certification processes for AtkinsRéalis.
- Ensure project BIM standards align with ISO 19650 requirements and maintain them consistently.
- Serve as the main liaison with software providers such as Autodesk, Bentley, and Esri for collaborative digital initiatives.
- Lead, support, and audit the planning and management of Common Data Environment (CDE) implementations.
- Provide technical expertise on software and technology related to Information Management workflows.
- Identify and execute enhancements to clients' Information Management and BIM strategies.
- Coordinate BIM and digital delivery with clients, sub-consultants, contractors, and authorities ensuring compliance with project standards.
- Enforce naming conventions, classification systems, metadata standards, document controls, and timely information delivery (MIDP and TIDP).
- Develop and manage BIM Execution Plans, assuring compliance throughout project lifecycles.
- Implement BIM QA/QC processes including model reviews, clash detection, and information validation to address issues effectively.
- Oversee coordination between Master Planning, Roads, Landscape, Utilities, Civil Structures, GIS, Architecture, Structural, and MEP teams to guarantee design integration and prompt resolution of interfaces.
- Facilitate the adoption of digital automation tools across all relevant disciplines to improve quality, productivity, and delivery performance.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Proven experience delivering intricate infrastructure and master planning projects in the Middle East.
- Expertise in formulating and applying Digital Engineering strategies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 19650 standards and their application.
- Experience integrating Digital/IM/BIM with other corporate functions such as quality assurance, contracts, procurement, bidding, and talent management.
- Capability to prepare detailed technical documentation related to digital delivery and tender proposals.
- Hands-on experience with Digital/IM/BIM tools from major vendors including Autodesk and Bentley, including training users.
- Strong knowledge and experience with implementation and management of Common Data Environment platforms.
- Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking abilities.
- Familiarity with software such as Autodesk Forma (Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360), Bentley ProjectWise, Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, and GIS applications.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field in construction.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in BIM/Digital Delivery, specifically for infrastructure and land development projects within the Middle East.
- Membership in professional bodies, certifications in BIM or Information Management, and PMP or similar qualifications are desirable.
Preferred Skills
- Professional certifications in BIM and digital delivery tools related to modeling, 3D coordination, 4D/5D scheduling, and information management.
- Experience working with Bentley digital platforms including ProjectWise, Open Roads Designer, Open Bridge Designer, Open Utilities, and MicroStation.
