About The Role

• Competitive pay at $45.50 per hour with a compulsory trade certificate
• Overtime compensated at 1.5 times the normal rate for the first three hours and double rates thereafter

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a seasoned Industrial Coatings Painter committed to applying high-caliber finishes in demanding conditions. Proficiency in surface preparation including abrasive blasting, and application of protective coatings via airless spray, brushes, and rollers is essential. You should have a strong adherence to safety procedures, effective communication skills, and thrive in a teamwork environment. Attention to detail and a dedication to quality work enable you to interpret technical specifications, solve issues independently, and consistently achieve industry-standard outputs.

Core Skills and Expertise

• Experience in industrial coating applications
• Capable of using airless and conventional spray painting techniques
• Skilled in abrasive blasting and surface preparation methods
• Knowledge of protective coating systems
• Ability to perform quality inspections including coating thickness measurement
• Familiar with mixing and preparing coating substances
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance
• Effective problem-solving and fault diagnosis capabilities

Qualifications and Requirements

• Relevant trade certificate at Level 4 or higher in Industrial Painting, or equivalent proven experience
• At least 5 years of practical experience in industrial, marine, or construction coating roles
• Valid full New Zealand Class 1 Driver's License
• Eligibility to acquire and maintain New Zealand Defence Security Clearance
