Inclusion Support Assistant

Job Overview

As an Inclusion Support Assistant, you will aid the lead teacher in executing daily preschool lesson plans, engaging children in educational activities, and supporting a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the lead teacher in delivering daily lessons, learning activities, and educational games aligned with the preschool curriculum.
• Supervise children during class, mealtime, playtime, and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and encourage positive behavior.
• Assist with behavior management by reinforcing classroom rules and helping children develop social and emotional skills.
• Prepare and organize classroom resources and learning materials to foster hands-on creative learning.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free classroom environment including sanitizing toys and surfaces.
• Provide individualized support through one-on-one or small group assistance to children needing extra help or emotional support.
• Observe and report children's development and behavior to the lead teacher, noting concerns or progress.
• Support daily routines such as arrivals, departures, toileting, meals, and rest periods to promote independence and consistency.
• Model respectful, cooperative, and inclusive behavior to encourage a positive classroom culture.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and staff for consistent teaching practices and child care.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Preschool Education or an equivalent qualification is required.
• Completion of a TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) training course is expected.
• Prior experience working with young children in educational or care settings is preferred.
• Demonstrate patience and empathy when interacting with young children.
• Exhibit strong communication skills with children, parents, and staff.
• Work well within a team and accept guidance willingly.
• Possess keen observation skills to recognize developmental milestones or concerns.
• Show creativity and enthusiasm to engage children effectively through play and learning.
• Maintain strong organizational abilities to manage materials and schedules efficiently.
• Adaptable to changes in schedule and children’s needs.
• Display cultural sensitivity by respecting diverse backgrounds and abilities.
