Job description

About Stripe

Stripe serves as a comprehensive financial infrastructure platform supporting businesses worldwide, ranging from large multinational enterprises to emerging startups. Our purpose is to boost the global internet economy by enhancing the ways companies accept payments and expand revenue streams, presenting a monumental opportunity to impact the global economy positively.

Team Overview

The Security Incident Response team plays a critical role in monitoring, triaging, and evaluating the gravity of security alerts. This team initiates prompt containment actions and escalates issues for deeper analysis and resolution. By analyzing diverse datasets, it detects threats, refines operational efficiencies, and scales security measures. The team manages incidents from external attacks to internal security breaches with speed and accuracy, supporting thorough post-incident reviews across global regions including North America, Europe, and Asia.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and synchronize all phases of security incident response as the designated Incident Response Manager (IRM).
  • Investigate a wide array of threats affecting client systems while ensuring confidentiality and precise documentation.
  • Decision-making based on incident findings, communicating relevant context and insights to prevent, detect, and mitigate malicious activities.
  • Create, formalize, and apply incident response protocols, strategic plans, and operational runbooks.
  • Collaborate extensively with security engineering and data science teams to develop scalable analysis tools protecting organizational networks and data.
  • Enhance response effectiveness through refined KPIs, metrics, and consistent reporting to relevant internal audiences.
  • Drive continuous improvement in security processes by fostering key stakeholder relationships and cross-team cooperation.
  • Mentor colleagues and uphold high-quality standards in incident response activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least five years of leadership experience in Security Incident Response.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficient in Python and SQL, with knowledge of additional programming languages.
  • Proven skills in log analysis, network security, digital forensics, and security incident investigations.
  • Hands-on experience with security event analysis including query and analytics development, troubleshooting, and data correlation.
  • Ability to create new analytical methods that automate response protocols.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement and autonomy.
  • Capable of identifying patterns and deriving insights from disparate internal and external data to inform risk mitigation strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge across information security domains such as endpoint, email, network, identity, cloud security, vulnerability management, incident response, and threat intelligence.
  • Experience with data engineering and analysis platforms like Databricks and Trino.
  • Familiarity with network observability and security software tools (e.g., Chronicle, osquery, LogScale, Splunk).

Work Arrangement

This position is offered with flexible location options. Candidates can work remotely if located more than 35 miles (56 km) from a Stripe office, with occasional in-person meetings encouraged. Employees assigned to an office are expected to spend at least half their time onsite to foster collaboration and learning.

The salary range for this role in Dublin is €89,100 to €133,700 annually, which may vary by location and candidate experience. Compensation packages may include equity, bonuses, retirement plans, health coverage, and wellness allowances. Details will be clarified during the interview process.
