About Money as a Service Team

The Money as a Service (MaaS) team manages a wide-ranging set of Stripe's core products and platforms related to money management. This involves developing the next generation of Stripe's financial management systems (version 2) while maintaining the foundational systems (version 1). The team builds and enhances the financial account functionality, which is vital for enabling users to handle funding, storage, and money movement within Stripe, empowering entire business operations on our platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and sustain APIs, services, and scalable systems capable of processing billions of money movement requests reliably and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and resolve critical production issues spanning multiple services and stack levels.
• Provide mentorship to fellow engineers to foster professional growth.
• Engage with stakeholders company-wide to develop new large-scale features and enhance internal engineering standards, tools, and workflows.
• Work effectively within a distributed and hybrid team structure, maintaining open and robust communication with colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications

• Between 2 and 6 years of professional software engineering experience (excluding internships or cooperative education).
• Proficient coding skills in any programming language; our interview process is language-neutral considering new languages can be mastered on the job.
• Strong ability to collaborate across different workstreams and contribute positively to team members’ success.
• Comfortable with high autonomy and responsibility, possessing an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Eagerness to work broadly across technologies and technology stacks, solving complex problems to satisfy both internal and external users.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with large-scale financial tracking systems.
• Familiarity and practical experience with cloud technologies and services such as gRPC, GraphQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS.

Workplace Expectations

Employees assigned to this office location are expected to work onsite at least 50% of the time per month. Attendance expectations may vary by role, team, and location to balance in-person collaboration with flexibility.

Compensation and Benefits

The base annual salary range for this role in Singapore is SGD 122400 to SGD 183600, subject to adjustment based on location and candidate experience. Total compensation may include equity, bonuses, health benefits, retirement plans, and wellness stipends. Specific benefits details will be shared during the hiring process.
