Job description
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Import/Export Coordinator to manage the full cycle of import shipments for plastic raw materials at our Mumbai location. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of relevant industry experience and be proficient in handling documentation, shipment tracking, and coordination with multiple stakeholders involved in the import process.
Key Duties
- Manage complete import operations including monitoring and tracking shipments of plastic raw materials.
- Liaise with international suppliers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers (CHA), CFS, and transportation services to ensure smooth transit and clearance of goods.
- Verify and organize all import documentation such as Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading or Sea Waybills, Certificates of Origin, and Bills of Entry.
- Coordinate customs clearance activities including Bill of Entry filing, duty payments, and container release alongside CHA representatives.
- Track container movements, estimated arrival times, delivery schedules, and oversee the return of empty containers.
- Maintain detailed inventory and stock records categorized by product type, grade, quantity, supplier, and warehouse location.
- Monitor and report on charges related to detention, demurrage, CFS, port fees, freight, and transportation; identify and report discrepancies.
- Compile and maintain shipment-related records along with regular reporting on import activities, inventory, and logistics status.
- Collaborate closely with sales, purchasing, accounts, and warehouse departments to ensure seamless material flow.
Qualifications and Skills
- 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Import/Export operations, logistics, or trading sectors.
- Comprehensive understanding of Indian customs processes and Bill of Entry requirements.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and skilled in managing detailed documentation.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and follow-up abilities.
- Prior experience within chemicals, polymers, plastic raw materials, or commodity trading domains is favorable.
- Highly responsible with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments independently.
