As an IE Layout Engineer, you will employ industrial engineering techniques and analytical problem-solving to design efficient production equipment layouts that boost factory throughput. Acting as a liaison among Manufacturing, Engineering, and Facilities teams, you will ensure layout records are precise, assist in planning tool installations, and confirm all layouts abide by technical and scheduling constraints.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance equipment layouts by applying industrial engineering to optimize material flow, space utilization, and overall factory productivity.
• Keep layout documentation current, reflecting all tool equipment setups, moves, upgrades, and removals in ramp plans.
• Conduct field assessments with Facilities and equipment owners to confirm layout viability, check physical and infrastructure limitations, and align layouts with real operational conditions.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to communicate and resolve layout challenges through planning and execution phases.
• Build foundational knowledge of factory design, cleanroom procedures, and processing zones to aid layout planning and readiness.
• Oversee planning and logistics for equipment movements.
• Support scenario analyses to meet strategic business goals.
• Incorporate AI-based solutions to enhance team and personal productivity.
• Adopt AI-assisted tools and insights in daily tasks to boost efficiency, quality, and effectiveness, while adhering to organizational and legal standards.
• Promote continuous improvement culture by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-driven enhancements within your domain.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities to assess constraints, weigh trade-offs, and support decisions based on data in layout planning.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with multiple departments for alignment and action.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable in dynamic, fast-changing settings.
• Capable of multitasking and systematic organization to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
• Physically fit to work within a cleanroom environment, requiring full cleanroom attire and performing on-site validations and walk-throughs.
• Demonstrated leadership experience of at least two years, including university or extracurricular roles.
• Hands-on programming experience, including usage of Gen AI tools for coding (vibe coding).
• Practical exposure to AI technologies such as chatbots, agentic AI, and automation either academically or professionally.
• Internship or previous experience in the semiconductor sector is advantageous.
• Interest in and knowledge about the semiconductor industry and Micron preferred.
• Ability to apply fundamental digital skills and AI literacy responsibly and effectively towards research, problem-solving, content creation, and business objectives.

Additional Information

This role involves design and development work related to equipment and system layouts in various facilities. It may include workflow and operation sequencing studies to maximize resource utilization and prepare cost estimates for proposed projects. Participation in testing and implementing new production systems, as well as collaborating with R&D and engineering for future product integration, is expected.
