Job description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ICT Operations Coordinator to join our Information and Communication Technology team in Wellington. This is a full-time, permanent position located in our central office, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer. You'll play a key role within the technology leadership group by organizing leadership priorities, facilitating crucial meetings and planning sessions, and ensuring follow-through on key actions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and enhance the operational rhythm of the ICT Leadership Team.
  • Organize and facilitate various meetings, workshops, retrospectives, and planning sessions.
  • Enable informed decision-making by consolidating clear and relevant data.
  • Keep leadership priorities, risks, actions, and commitments visible and tracked.
  • Coordinate reporting, briefings, and communications for leadership.
  • Support governance bodies and ensure implemented decisions are followed.
  • Identify and introduce opportunities to simplify processes and improve leadership workflows.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience supporting senior leadership teams in complex organizations.
  • Strong facilitation abilities that help groups achieve clear outcomes and decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of distilling complex information.
  • Strong organizational aptitude and systems thinking to link priorities, risks, dependencies, and commitments.
  • Ability to build trust-based relationships and influence without direct authority.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft 365 and contemporary collaboration, automation, and AI tools.
  • Sound judgment and confidentiality when handling sensitive information and senior stakeholders.

Experience in local government or complex public-sector environments is advantageous but not mandatory.

Additional Information

This position is located onsite in Wellington. Greater Wellington is committed to diversity and inclusion and offers a supportive workplace. Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand as sponsorship is not available. The remuneration package ranges from $74,724 to $112,086 per year, depending on experience, with a midpoint salary of $93,405. Agency applications will not be accepted.
