Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced IBM WebMethods Architect to design and govern enterprise application integration solutions. You will develop comprehensive integration architectures, establish standards, and lead technical delivery using WebMethods technologies and related platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and define end-to-end integration architectures for enterprise and partner systems.
• Design effective solutions employing WebMethods Integration Server, API Gateway, ActiveTransfer, Trading Networks, and Universal Messaging.
• Create architecture documentation including Component Architecture Diagrams (CAD), Solution Architecture Documents (SAD), and Solution on a Page (SOAP) artifacts.
• Set integration standards, reusable frameworks, and implement governance processes.
• Engineer API-led, microservices-based, and event-driven integration solutions.
• Collaborate with architects, stakeholders, vendors, and project teams to deliver scalable, secure integrations.
• Ensure adherence to security protocols such as OAuth2, JWT, mutual TLS (mTLS), and API security controls.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and participate in architecture reviews.
• Focus on platform performance optimization, resilience, observability, and operational excellence.

Required Expertise

• Extensive experience with WebMethods Integration Server and API Gateway management.
• Proven hands-on skills with ActiveTransfer (Managed File Transfer), Trading Networks, Universal Messaging, and WebMethods Designer.
• Strong understanding of REST and SOAP web services, API management, and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) architecture.
• Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architectural patterns, including Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP).
• Over 10 years of IT experience with a minimum of 5 years focusing on Integration Architecture.
• Familiarity with messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ.
• Practical experience with Redis Cache, Kong API Gateway, and Axway MFT.
• Strong grasp of integration security, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), DevOps practices, and cloud integration patterns across AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to technologies like GraphQL and data streaming platforms.
• Experience in utility, energy, or other critical infrastructure industries.
• Knowledge of operational technology (OT) and SCADA integration.
• Experience designing and implementing real-time and event-driven data architectures.
