About The Role
Join Kerry in Portbury, Bristol, as a full-time, permanent Hygiene Operative at our purpose-built factory located at Royal Portbury Dock. This facility specialises in dry blending and mixing, producing flavour blends for globally recognised brands. Due to the site's location, owning your own transport is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, and ad hoc cleaning tasks adhering strictly to the cleaning schedules.
- Conduct high and low-level cleaning of the site, plant, and fabrication areas.
- Clean processing equipment and production lines to meet stringent standards, verified through sample testing.
- Carry out deep cleaning throughout production areas.
- Complete post-cleaning inspections to ensure tasks are fully accomplished.
- Accurately complete all related paperwork and documentation.
- Comply with all company procedures concerning health & safety, hygiene, food safety, legal requirements, quality, authenticity, and integrity.
- Ensure personal protective and cleaning equipment are maintained and used correctly at all times.
- Manage stock control of chemicals, consumables, and equipment on site.
- Replenish consumable items and chemicals per schedule.
- Empty waste receptacles and oversee sorting of recycling and waste streams.
- Report any incidents or environmental concerns promptly to your line manager.
- Perform any additional duties as requested to meet business needs.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Good communication skills, with the ability to operate independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Physical fitness to handle manual labor including heavy lifting.
- Experience in hygiene or food manufacturing roles is beneficial; extensive training will be provided.
- Ability to work efficiently under time pressures.
- Understanding of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) and chemical handling.
- Holding Level 2 Food Hygiene certification is advantageous.
- Capability to follow established procedures and schedules, reporting any issues to senior leadership.
- Competence in managing a high volume of workload effectively.
