HVAC Design Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled HVAC and Hydraulics Design Engineer to join our expanding team located in Hawke’s Bay. Our company, Aquair, specializes in servicing existing buildings and building enduring relationships with clients who own, manage, and use these facilities. This position offers the chance to tackle diverse and complex projects that require innovative, agile problem solving and creative solution development.

Our workload is robust and ongoing, presenting a promising future for both the firm and the selected candidate. We are looking for an intermediate to senior engineer eager to take initiative and work independently to create innovative design solutions.

Key Duties

• Conduct site surveys to evaluate building services of various ages and types at diverse locations.
• Develop design solutions for both new and retrofit building services.
• Manage projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring successful delivery.
• Take initiative and work independently with a strong client-focused approach.
• Maintain exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality service standards.
• Collaborate effectively as a team member and communicate clearly, showing empathy toward clients and building occupants.
• Uphold integrity and honesty, contributing to Aquair’s culture of trust.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum mechanical engineering qualification at NZCE level or equivalent, such as NCEA level 4 or higher.
• Over 5 years of professional engineering experience.
• Trade experience is considered a plus.
• Team-oriented with a desire for both professional and personal growth, actively participating in the business’s future growth.
• Must be eligible to work in New Zealand or have a clear pathway to obtain this eligibility.
