Role Overview

The HR Digital team at Syngenta is seeking an HR Digital Lead Developer specializing in integrations to join their Pune office. This pivotal role involves designing and delivering comprehensive integration solutions across Workday platforms to enhance HR and payroll systems.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather, validate, and document integration requirements alongside evaluating alternatives complying with project governance processes.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of Workday integration solutions, encompassing requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and cutover activities.
  • Develop and implement integrations utilizing Workday tools such as PECI, Core Connector, EIB, Workday Studio, Orchestrations, and APIs.
  • Define and maintain detailed interface specifications, including data mappings, transformations, and workflow designs in coordination with master and target systems.
  • Assess and communicate technical implications and trade-offs associated with design and configuration decisions.
  • Create and update technical documentation to facilitate implementation and ongoing support, including knowledge transfer to operational support teams.
  • Coordinate and support testing phases including unit, system, UAT, and regression testing.
  • Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on interface development and SaaS platform integration operations.
  • Support project management by identifying and tracking integration-related risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Participate actively in Workday release assessments, identifying impacts and improvement opportunities.
  • Evaluate change requests impacts and assist in planning implementation strategies.
  • Offer production support through ticket handling, problem diagnosis, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Analyze and resolve data conversion anomalies through detailed troubleshooting and remediation.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum six years of relevant experience focused on Workday integrations or HR/Payroll SaaS integration delivery.
  • Practical proficiency with Workday integration tools, including Workday Studio, Orchestration, APIs, and related configuration, with active configuration experience spanning five to six years.
  • Experience working with PECI, Core Connector, and EIB integrations.
  • Solid understanding of web service and integration/security standards such as REST, JSON, SOAP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, PGP, and SAML.
  • Expertise in developing requirements, functional and technical specifications, interface design, and field mapping documentation.
  • Strong involvement in supporting various testing cycles including unit, system, UAT, regression, and release testing phases.
  • Familiarity with change request management and ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with technical teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to independently manage priorities and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.
  • High degree of attention to detail, professionalism, integrity, and ability to foster relationships at various organizational levels.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience evaluating Workday releases for impact and suggesting necessary enhancements.
  • Knowledge of BIRT reporting tools.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Proven capacity to empower others through documentation, knowledge sharing, and stakeholder training.
  • Ability to independently acquire knowledge using resources such as Workday Community and apply learning to improve delivery quality.
