Within Human Resources, Nomura emphasizes talent acquisition, development, and retention, fostering an inclusive, positive work environment. The Reward Advisory team, part of Group Reward in HR, collaborates globally on compensation strategy and people analytics. This role spans three key areas: about 50% supporting International Wealth Management and Private Banking divisions, 25% advising cross-divisional Americas regions including AEJ Remuneration Committee support, and 25% focusing globally alongside the Group Head of Reward on compensation projects and innovations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and divisional leaders in International Wealth Management to provide compensation consulting, benchmarking, and support for annual reviews.
  • Manage the year-end compensation process including bonus allocation models, salary adjustments, and pool management, coordinating with HR partners and COOs.
  • Perform competitive benchmarking and job matching using market data providers to assess fixed pay and total compensation for hires and reviews.
  • Offer cross-divisional compensation analytics and advice across the Asia ex-Japan region for multiple business units.
  • Prepare materials for the AEJ Remuneration Committee, including governance reports, regulatory filings, and policy documents.
  • Work with Finance, HR, Business Managers, and Strategy teams to produce people analytics and insights to support regional decisions.
  • Engage directly with the Group Head of Reward on global compensation framework design, standardization, and firm-wide projects.
  • Promote innovation in compensation and analytics methods, enhancing tools, processes, and approaches within the Group Reward function.
  • Deliver precise and timely HR data and analysis for budgeting, headcount planning, and tracking HR metrics globally.
  • Partner with HR stakeholders worldwide on analytic solutions to identify organizational issues and advance the people analytics agenda.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • At least 5 years’ experience in compensation, reward, or HR analytics roles, preferably in financial services or complex multinational firms.
  • Sound commercial understanding of global financial services compensation structures encompassing fixed and variable pay.
  • Proven track record managing end-to-end year-end compensation cycles, including bonus modeling and salary pool oversight.
  • Familiarity with market data providers, ideally McLagan or Willis Towers Watson.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to act as a reliable compensation advisor to senior leaders and HR partners.
  • High numerical and analytical proficiency, with advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities; experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and HR analytics platforms (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors) is a plus.
  • Ability to condense complex compensation and analytics information into clear presentations for senior executives and Remuneration Committees.
  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities and delivering accurate analytic outputs under tight deadlines across diverse stakeholders.

Leadership and Cultural Values

  • Analytical insight: Identify root causes of challenges and set clear future directions.
  • Strategic decisiveness: Evaluate options effectively and prioritize solutions.
  • Inspirational leadership: Motivate team through clear communication and drive productivity.
  • Capability building: Engage in professional growth and encourage knowledge sharing.
  • Inclusion: Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering psychological safety and a risk-aware culture.
