About the Role

The Electronic FX QA Engineer position is within Nomura's E-Trading Strategy FX team, which is part of the Global Markets division based in Singapore. This franchise drives all quantitative and technical aspects related to Nomura's Electronic FX flows, including market making models, price distribution curves, trade aggregators, algorithmic trading systems, and a web-enabled Single Dealer Platform. The team owns and maintains most systems handling Nomura's electronic FX activity.

This opportunity invites a professional to join a growing team that supports the FX franchise operating 24 hours a day, 5.5 days a week. The successful candidate will collaborate with development teams in Singapore and London to ensure system quality and reliability, engineering solutions tailored to franchise needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive quality assurance for all FX market making and algorithmic trading systems.
  • Lead and participate in projects related to FX product development and enhancement.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Between five to seven years of experience in financial services QA, including a minimum of three years specialising in FX and trading system environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java-based test automation frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, and Cucumber.
  • Experience with API testing and performance testing tailored for low-latency systems.
  • Expertise in UI automation testing using Selenium or Playwright for frameworks like React and Vue.js.
  • Preferred practical knowledge of FX domain elements including FIX protocol testing, compliance with regulatory reporting, and real-time trading system evaluation.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab, ideally integrating with large Gradle build systems.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, effective communication skills bridging technical and business teams, and a creative mindset towards automation and process improvements.
  • Experience utilising AI coding assistants while upholding high code quality standards.
  • Holds at least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a recognised institution.
