About the Role

Mandarin Oriental, Doha seeks a dedicated Housekeeping Supervisor to join our housekeeping team. The property in Doha offers a sophisticated urban escape with Qatari heritage influences, located centrally near prominent landmarks such as Souq Waqif and Museum of Islamic Art.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold the hotel's image by maintaining a neat uniform and adhering strictly to personal hygiene standards.
  • Ensure strict adherence to key control procedures.
  • Organize daily staff assignments for day rooms, turn-down services, evening cleaners, and support staff.
  • Perform daily room service inspections and periodic evening turn-down checks.
  • Coordinate regularly with Front Office regarding guest arrivals, VIP rooms, and special requests.
  • Provide performance feedback to the Housekeeping Manager on supervised employees.
  • Inspect equipment and pantries for cleanliness and proper storage at shift's end.
  • Oversee accurate handover between shifts, ensuring all notes are logged and instructions communicated.
  • Keep in close contact with order takers to monitor room status and inform housekeeping staff of check-outs promptly.
  • Continuously update room status and report discrepancies to Front Office.
  • Ensure departmental services align with the Welcome Charter and standard operating procedures.
  • Manage pantry stock levels and submit requisitions timely to maintain par levels.
  • Assist in emergency protocols such as evacuation, fire, and bomb threat procedures.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by the housekeeping management team.
  • Support linen inventory counts when scheduled by the Executive Housekeeper or management.
  • Report and follow up on maintenance issues effectively.
  • Conduct turn-down training for new and existing staff.
  • Enforce adherence to staff break schedules.
  • Physically verify and address reported discrepancies.
  • Report guest feedback and complaints to the Housekeeping Manager promptly.
  • Ensure all staff comply with lost and found protocols.

Candidate Profile

  • Prior experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor in luxury hotel environments is highly preferred. Experience in resort settings is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of housekeeping operations, including chemical use, linen care, and equipment handling, is essential.
  • Maintain a professional, well-groomed appearance consistently.
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Possess a pleasant, energetic, adaptable, and self-motivated demeanor with the ability to work independently.
