Role Purpose
As a Government Relations Officer within the People & Culture team based in Mandarin Oriental, Doha, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the human resources functions related to visa management and compliance. You will handle visa planning and processing, including block visa allocations, employment and resident visas for employees, guest visas, and necessary governmental certifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Stay informed on all updates or amendments to relevant laws, regulations, forms, and procedures, proactively advising the HR department of these changes.
- Manage the processing of diverse visa types such as employment, residence for staff, and business or entertainment visas for guests.
- Provide guidance on any applicable visa restrictions and regularly update management accordingly.
- Coordinate medical examinations, occupational health cards, and issuance of Qatar ID cards.
- Support colleagues in renewing visas for their immediate dependents as needed.
- Ensure all new hires have their E-Contracts properly attested.
- Submit required documentation to immigration and labour authorities for canceled or absconded employees and remove them from the hotel’s sponsorship records.
- Maintain thorough scanning and filing of all relevant documents in the hotel’s database.
- Keep the recruitment plan updated based on visa application and receipt statuses.
- Notify appropriate departments to prepare necessary documentation for renewing hotel licenses.
- Handle the renewal process for permits and licenses including hotel trade, liquor licenses, registration certificates, civil defense certificates, and planned event licenses like those for Ramadan and New Year.
- Manage the acquisition and renewal of event permits through Qatar Tourism Authority, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Culture, or other relevant governmental bodies.
Candidate Requirements
- At least one year of experience in a five-star hotel environment is preferred.
- Minimum one year experience in a similar or related administrative capacity.
- Vocational Diploma in Hospitality Operations or Human Resources.
- A degree or Higher National Diploma equivalent in Hospitality, Hotel or Business Management, or Human Resources.
