Role Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees daily housekeeping functions to uphold immaculate cleanliness, maintenance, and guest satisfaction in alignment with the hotel's elite standards. Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, this role involves supervising and coaching the housekeeping team to deliver superior service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Approve and release guest rooms upon inspection, ensuring top cleanliness and presentation standards for arrivals.
  • Perform regular quality audits of guest rooms and public areas to maintain consistent adherence to Mandarin Oriental’s service criteria.
  • Manage daily housekeeping operations including room status, maintenance liaison, and ensuring guest room readiness.
  • Oversee inventory and supply management for optimal housekeeping resource usage.
  • Lead, mentor, train, and assess housekeeping staff to encourage high performance and compliance with SOPs.
  • Deliver outstanding guest experiences by anticipating needs, managing preferences, and effectively resolving issues.

Candidate Requirements

  • Completed Senior School or equivalent; hospitality, hotel management, or business management diplomas/degrees preferred.
  • At least 3 years' experience in housekeeping within luxury 5-star hotels, including a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory capacity; experience in pre-opening and Middle East is a plus.
  • Strong expertise in housekeeping operations, chemicals, equipment, and inventory control.
  • Proficiency with Actabl/Alice, HMS, IBS, Microsoft Office, Workday, and other housekeeping management software.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written; Arabic language skills considered advantageous.
  • Exemplary leadership abilities, attention to detail, organizational skills, professionalism, flexibility, and team motivation capability.
