About Mandarin Oriental Downtown Dubai
Mandarin Oriental Downtown Dubai is part of a globally renowned group known for operating some of the world's most luxurious hotels, resorts, and residences in prime locations. The property, located in Wasl Tower on Sheikh Zayed Road, features 259 rooms and suites with modern design and panoramic views of Dubai's skyline. The hotel's dining options include multiple high-end restaurants and concepts with exciting openings planned. Role Overview
The Order Taker will be based within the Food and Beverage Department and responsible for managing all guest in-room dining orders. This role involves offering expert dining suggestions, coordinating with various teams, ensuring smooth and timely order processing, and upholding the highest standards of guest service under the supervision of the F&B Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of food and beverage options, including wine pairings and available promotions, while maintaining courteous and professional phone communication.
- Work closely with kitchen and in-room dining teams to guarantee seamless order delivery, accommodating guest preferences and special requests such as VIP amenities.
- Support daily operations by assisting with setup, clearing, mise-en-place activities, and maintaining stocked office supplies.
- Utilize POS systems effectively to process orders and billing according to hotel policies.
- Provide attentive and warm engagement with guests, actively listen to their needs, offer tailored recommendations, and be mindful of allergies or dietary restrictions.
- Maintain and enhance MOHG's Legendary Quality Experiences by overseeing VIP orders, managing guest records, resolving complaints, and creating memorable moments for guests.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 2 years' experience as an order taker within a luxury hotel environment; prior food and beverage exposure in 5-star settings is advantageous.
- Minimum educational qualification is high school; a diploma or degree in Hospitality, Hotel, or Business Management is preferred.
- Strong command of English; proficiency in additional languages such as Arabic is beneficial.
- Excellent phone etiquette, foundational knowledge of food and beverage offerings, and capability to recommend suitable menu choices.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, and basic computer applications including MS Office.
- Good interpersonal skills, organizational capabilities, multitasking proficiency, physical fitness, and flexibility to work varying shifts.
