Housekeeping Coordinator

Role Overview

The Housekeeping Coordinator is responsible for managing and reporting on room statuses, prioritizing cleaning schedules, and ensuring smooth coordination among housekeeping, engineering, reception, and laundry departments. This role supports daily housekeeping operations, maintains room status accuracy, and upholds the hotel's quality and safety standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Produce detailed reports on occupied rooms and verify their status.
• Identify rooms not suitable for use and prioritize room cleaning accordingly.
• Update guest room statuses, especially for guests checking out.
• Assist housekeeping management with daily operational tasks.
• Coordinate efforts between housekeeping, engineering, reception, and laundry teams to ensure seamless service.
• Document and resolve issues related to unsuitable rooms in coordination with the reception.
• Prepare and distribute cleaning assignments and schedules to housekeeping staff.
• Maintain and update the 'Do Not Disturb' room list and ensure timely cleaning of vacant and dirty rooms.
• Keep track of priority rooms and those previously marked 'Do Not Disturb'.
• Perform necessary housekeeping administrative duties.
• Adhere closely to all chain safety policies; report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly.
• Complete all mandatory safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean, full uniform and a professional appearance at all times.
• Respect confidentiality concerning company and hotel information, safeguarding all company assets.
• Welcome and assist guests following chain hospitality standards, anticipate and fulfill their needs, and engage in courteous communication.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and requirements.
• Foster positive and constructive professional relationships with colleagues, promoting teamwork and mutual support towards common goals.
• Communicate clearly and professionally both orally and in writing, producing accurate and comprehensive documentation.
• Utilize computers effectively to locate and manage professional information.
• Be prepared to work standing, seated, or moving for extended periods.
• Safely lift, carry, pull, or place loads weighing up to 4.5 kilograms independently.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisors that align with the position.

Qualifications

• Education: Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum of one year in a related role.
• Supervisory Experience: Not required.
• Licenses/Certifications: None required.
