Job description

Overview

Fraser Health Authority seeks an experienced Housekeeping Aide to uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards within its facilities, specifically serving the Delta Hospital in British Columbia. This full-time role provides an opportunity to join a committed healthcare team offering competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning and disinfection of various hospital areas including patient rooms, clinical, procedure, operating, diagnostic, and emergency rooms along with all related components.
  • Clean and sanitize high-contact surfaces daily such as patient equipment, toilets, sinks, furniture, doors, and supply dispensers.
  • Replenish supplies in dispensers like paper towels, toilet paper, hand soaps, lotions, and alcohol-based sanitizers.
  • Carry out discharge cleaning procedures for inpatient and resident rooms, including bed-making.
  • Transport equipment and furniture safely using appropriate devices.
  • Prepare meeting and conference rooms according to schedules or requests.
  • Conduct daily floor and carpet maintenance tasks such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning using relevant tools.
  • Handle laundry tasks including operating washers and dryers, sorting, marking, and distributing linens following established protocols.
  • Maintain housekeeping equipment by cleaning and replacing components like pads, bags, and filters.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to supervisors.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact well with others.
  • Physical capability to perform required tasks.
  • Competence in organizing work independently.
  • Familiarity with operating related cleaning and laundry equipment.

Additional Information

This position requires candidates to be legally authorized to work in Canada before finalizing employment.

Salary Details

The hourly wage for this role is CAD 25.82.
