Position Overview
Fraser Health Authority invites experienced Housekeeping Aides to join their dedicated team, providing crucial services to maintain a sanitary and safe environment at Mission Memorial Hospital in Mission, British Columbia. This full-time relief role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare setting with competitive pay and benefits.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct routine cleaning and disinfection of patient and resident rooms, as well as ambulatory, clinical, procedural, operating, diagnostic, and emergency areas, including all fixtures and equipment within these spaces.
- Daily sanitation of high-touch surfaces—patient equipment, toilets, sinks, furniture, doors, and dispensers—to maintain hygiene standards.
- Replenish dispensers with essentials such as paper towels, toilet paper, liquid hand soap, lotion, and alcohol-based hand rub.
- Perform thorough discharge cleaning of inpatient and resident rooms, including bed-making.
- Use appropriate equipment to transport and relocate items like furniture and medical apparatus.
- Set up meeting, conference, or other rooms according to schedules or specific requests.
- Execute floor care duties including dusting, mopping, carpet spot-cleaning, vacuuming, and maintenance of mats using suitable equipment.
- Operate domestic washers and dryers for laundry tasks such as loading/unloading, sorting, labeling, and distributing linens, while following established protocols.
- Maintain housekeeping equipment by cleaning and replacing components like pads, bags, and filters, and report malfunctions or supply shortages to supervisors.
- Carry out additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 10 education or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact well with colleagues and others.
- Sufficient physical capability to perform job tasks.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Competence in operating housekeeping and laundry equipment.
