About the Role

Join the Adeline Hall team in Bedford, Nova Scotia as a Housekeeper dedicated to maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environments for seniors. This position emphasizes compassion, professionalism, and safety, key to enriching our residents' lives and supporting our vibrant community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean shared spaces including lobbies, corridors, and stairwells thoroughly.
  • Perform sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing of kitchens and bathrooms to high standards.
  • Collect and properly dispose of waste from resident rooms according to policies.
  • Document all completed housekeeping tasks and participate in audits and inspections as needed.
  • Handle residents' personal laundry services when requested.
  • Communicate supply needs promptly to supervisors and efficiently manage housekeeping supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain and restock the housekeeping cart; alert supervisors when inventory is low.
  • Promote and uphold a strong safety culture by following safety protocols, identifying hazards, using personal protective equipment, and supporting coworkers' safe practices.

Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year experience in commercial housekeeping or laundry services.
  • Self-driven with a warm, customer-focused approach to completing duties efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills to interact politely and cooperatively with residents and team members.
  • Knowledgeable in infection control and prevention methods.
  • Experienced in operating cleaning machinery such as auto scrubbers, floor buffers, and vacuum cleaners.
  • Experience working with seniors or in senior living settings is a plus.
  • Capable of working independently and handling cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
  • Must be able to provide a clear criminal record check; vulnerability sector check if applicable.
  • Dementia awareness training and valid First Aid & CPR certification are considered beneficial.
