Job Overview
The Housekeeper at The Hotel ATL (formerly Sonesta Atlanta Airport) plays an essential role in the hospitality team by ensuring guest rooms, public spaces, and designated areas are kept clean, orderly, and welcoming. This position significantly contributes to a positive guest experience and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms according to established standards, including dusting, vacuuming, bed making, and linen changes.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms completely, covering fixtures, surfaces, and amenities.
- Wipe down furniture, surfaces, and decorative elements in guest rooms and public areas.
- Replenish room supplies such as toiletries, towels, and linens.
- Empty trash bins and replace liners in rooms and common zones.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout guest rooms, hallways, and public spaces.
- Identify and report maintenance or repair needs to the relevant personnel promptly.
- Monitor lost items in guest and public areas, reporting them to supervisors.
- Engage courteously and professionally with guests, addressing their requests and questions.
- Respect guest privacy and uphold security standards through adherence to established procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in housekeeping or related roles is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and knowledge of appropriate cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
- Capability to work independently and accomplish assigned cleaning tasks efficiently.
- Effective communication abilities for guest and team interactions.
- Basic understanding of safety and sanitation protocols.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical and Working Conditions
The role demands physical effort including extended standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting items up to 50 pounds. Some work occurs indoors with exposure to equipment, machines, extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, unpleasant odors, and loud noises. Observing safety protocols and using protective gear is required.
