About the Role
Join Ruby Group as a Hotel Technician where your technical skills contribute directly to the comfort and safety of guests. This role is not just about fixing pipes and wiring; it’s about ensuring seamless hotel operations and providing a welcoming environment behind the scenes. You will be the crucial support at Ruby Flora, a vibrant 88-room hotel in the heart of Valletta, Malta, characterized by its Art Deco style and vivid history.
Ruby Flora draws inspiration from Valletta’s iconic Strait Street and combines historic Maltese charm with contemporary luxury. The location offers easy access to the airport and walking tours around the city. Our growing hospitality group operates across Europe, championing Lean Luxury—offering sophisticated yet accessible hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform minor repairs, touch-ups, and ongoing maintenance tasks including addressing leaking taps and creaking doors.
- Oversee and ensure smooth operation of all technical systems within the hotel.
- Manage coordination with external service providers to maintain facility standards.
- Handle various small projects such as painting and sealing throughout hotel premises.
- Collaborate closely with Corporate Office in Munich and the housekeeping department to maintain operational harmony.
- Conduct and monitor routine maintenance and safety inspections in cooperation with the Maintenance Manager.
- Procure necessary materials and supplies for maintenance tasks in consultation with the Hotel Manager.
Candidate Profile
- A versatile technician with strong practical skills and a hands-on approach. While formal apprenticeship in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical fields are advantageous, relevant experience and craftsmanship are prioritized.
- Several years of professional experience performing maintenance duties in similar environments.
- Competence in overseeing external repair and service providers efficiently.
- Proficient with multiple trades including painting, electrical repairs, and plumbing; proactive in identifying and implementing solutions.
- Personable and positive with a good sense of humor to support a friendly and dynamic work atmosphere.
- Flexibility to occasionally work evening or weekend shifts as required.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; additional European languages are a plus, aiding communication with an international team and guests.
