Job description
Job Overview
This full-time position based in Clarenville, Newfoundland and Labrador involves various cleaning and maintenance tasks with a focus on maintaining a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for hotel guests. The role is entry level and does not require prior experience as training will be provided.
Primary Duties
- Sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing floors to keep all areas spotless
- Dusting and cleaning furniture and fixtures throughout the premises
- Vacuuming carpets, rugs, drapery, and upholstered furnishings
- Making beds, changing linens, and restocking supplies like towels and toiletries
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and polishing kitchen, bathroom fixtures, and appliances
- Maintaining the cleanliness of elevators and common areas
- Handling lost and found items responsibly and reporting accordingly
- Responding promptly to guest requests for supplies or assistance
- Removing trash and debris from designated areas
- Laundering and mending clothing and linens when necessary
- Cleaning changing rooms and showers to ensure hygiene standards
- Addressing any customer concerns or complaints professionally
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
The role is physically demanding, requiring frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, and the ability to manage heavy loads safely. Work hours involve shifts during mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Employment Details
- Permanent, full-time employment with 32 to 34 hours per week
- Hourly wage set at $19.50 CAD
- English language required for effective communication
- Support available for newcomers, refugees, and youth including on-the-job training and foreign credential recognition
