Sofitel Dubai The Palm is a prestigious 5-star beachfront resort situated on the East Crescent of the famous Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. Role Summary and Responsibilities
- Possess thorough knowledge of the dining room layout including table, seat, and section numbers, proper table arrangements, capacity, operational hours, price levels, and dress requirements.
- Understand restaurant reservation procedures and manage daily counts, arrivals, departures, and VIP guest information.
- Keep informed of scheduled in-house group events including locations and times.
- Adhere to all departmental policies and service procedures consistently.
- Answer incoming calls swiftly within three rings, using proper greeting etiquette.
- Record and validate all restaurant reservations and cancellations per departmental standards and promptly communicate any changes to management during shifts.
- Supervise and ensure all assigned tasks meet departmental quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and adequate stock of menus and check folders; keep the hostess stand neat and organized.
- Review reservation records, pre-assign tables based on reservations, and follow up on special guest requests.
- Warmly welcome guests at the restaurant entrance and seat them appropriately according to the floor plan, ensuring fairness in waitstaff assignments.
- Accompany guests to their designated tables and confirm their satisfaction with seating arrangements.
- Provide guests with menus and ensure tables are set impeccably to offer the best dining service.
- Anticipate periods of heavy customer flow and implement strategies to manage wait times effectively.
- Respond promptly to guest needs and acknowledge guests at all times throughout the day, regardless of workload.
Eligibility
Candidates ideally should hold a degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism Management and have at least two years of experience in hotel operations. Strong customer service skills, effective communication, and interpersonal abilities are essential.
