Hostess

Overview

We are seeking a courteous and well-groomed Hostess to become part of our hospitality team. Serving as the initial point of contact, you will ensure guests receive a warm welcome and a positive first impression. Your role involves greeting visitors, handling reservations, and managing seating logistics to facilitate an efficient dining experience.

Key Duties

• Greet arriving guests warmly and professionally.
• Oversee waitlists and reservation systems through seating charts or booking software.
• Guide guests to their tables and provide menus.
• Communicate wait times and try to accommodate special requests.
• Collaborate with service and kitchen teams to streamline seating and service processes.
• Answer telephone calls and address guest questions with professionalism.
• Ensure the front-of-house area remains clean and visually appealing.
• Address guest complaints swiftly, escalating issues to the management when necessary.
• Support basic administrative tasks and assist team members as needed.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Completion of high school education or equivalent.
• Experience as a hostess or in roles involving direct customer interaction is advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
• Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a calm manner.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of reservation software such as OpenTable or Resy is a plus.

• Requirement to stand for prolonged durations.
