Host / Hostess

Role Overview

The Host/Hostess will warmly greet guests upon arrival, ascertain the size of their party, and escort them to an appropriate table. Responsibilities include arranging seating, ensuring tables and place settings are pristine, and providing guests with current menus. The position requires managing dining room arrangements to accommodate guests with specific needs and maintaining a welcoming and orderly environment.

Key Duties

• Welcome guests and facilitate seating by identifying clean, vacant tables and preparing the setting.
• Assist guests as needed throughout the dining area and maintain cleanliness by following clean-as-you-go practices.
• Ensure place settings meet standards with clean silverware, napkins, and branded menus.
• Monitor dining room service, safety, and guest comfort continuously.
• Rearrange tables and chairs to accommodate groups with special requirements.
• Execute company safety, security protocols, and report any incidents or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain professional appearance, secure company information, and protect assets.
• Use professional communication skills for guest interactions and phone etiquette.
• Collaborate positively with colleagues to achieve team objectives.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, sitting, walking for prolonged periods, and moving light objects (up to 10 pounds) as needed.
• Undertake additional duties assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

• Minimum education level: high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• No prior experience or supervisory background required.
• No mandatory licenses or certifications necessary.
