The Hospitality Operations Coordinator is a full-time, permanent, on-site position located at Mt Wellington, Auckland. The role entails managing the daily functioning of training kitchens and the student Cafe, coordinating campus events, and delivering industry-relevant training to develop student competence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and activities of the Campus Cafe to ensure smooth service.
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes to maintain quality, consistency, and strict adherence to food safety standards.
  • Assist the Team Leader with planning and managing the schedule of campus events and functions.
  • Deliver practical teaching support and assessments in collaboration with the academic team.
  • Encourage and coach students effectively, fostering confidence and experience in hospitality.
  • Demonstrate and uphold the organisation's core values.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

  • Experienced hospitality professional with practical skills in cooking and kitchen management.
  • Organised, calm, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students and staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Detail-oriented with problem-solving ability and strong knowledge of hospitality industry best practices.
