Job description
Overview
Deliver exceptional service to create lasting positive customer experiences. Maintain a clean and safe environment that encourages repeat visits. Meet sales and profit targets set for the department while overseeing compliance with quality assurance standards. Support daily department operations and promote a customer-first attitude among staff. Uphold company core values including respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service through effective communication and product knowledge.
- Ensure the department is safe, orderly, and clean at all times.
- Assist in meeting sales and profitability goals.
- Support daily operational activities within the department.
- Motivate and encourage associates to embrace the Customer 1st strategy.
- Manage merchandising creatively and condition products as per company policy.
- Conduct cashier duties and ensure all company policies related to merchandising, labor, expenses, loss prevention, and safety are followed.
- Monitor inventory levels, report discrepancies, and maintain awareness of stock conditions.
- Adhere to scheduled operating hours and work with management to report safety risks, equipment maintenance needs, or incidents.
- Comply with health, civil, and safety codes at local, state, and federal levels.
Minimum Qualifications
- Effective communication skills.
- Basic math skills including counting, addition, and subtraction.
- Ability to handle stress and meet minimum physical requirements.
- Must be 18 years or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous retail experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in a second language (speaking, reading, or writing).
Additional Information
- Maintain a welcoming environment by assisting customers with product questions and guidance.
- Stay informed of store layouts and product locations.
- Educate associates on current and upcoming promotions.
- Support safety initiatives by identifying hazards and reporting issues promptly.
