Home Care Worker

About the Role

Silverchain Group is seeking compassionate Home Care Workers to support elderly community members in Bannockburn and surrounding regions. Candidates with a minimum of three months in a similar capacity are encouraged to join our dedicated team focused on empowering older adults to maintain independence and wellbeing at home.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general housekeeping duties including making beds, cleaning, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
• Manage laundry tasks such as washing, folding, and ironing.
• Prepare meals and assist with grocery shopping.
• Provide personal assistance including helping clients get ready for the day by assisting with showering, dressing, and mobility support aligned with therapy objectives.
• Deliver complex care for clients with high needs, including those with dementia.
• Offer social and emotional support to clients.
• Transport clients to appointments and lifestyle activities.
• Support family carers by offering respite opportunities.

Candidate Profile

• Enjoys variety in daily work and can build strong, positive relationships with clients and families.
• Demonstrates care and commitment to helping elderly people live independently and comfortably at home.
• Capable of working independently, problem-solving day-to-day challenges, and seeking guidance when necessary.
• Possesses a valid Australian driver’s license and owns an insured, roadworthy vehicle.
• Has at least three months experience in a related role.
