Disability Support Worker

Job Overview

We are seeking compassionate and committed Support Workers to join our team at a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home in Nundah, Queensland. This role entails providing consistent, person-centered assistance to three inspiring women in their 50s and 60s who share a residence.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform personal care support tailored to individual needs.
• Assist with meal preparation and medication administration.
• Support mobility and facilitate community engagement activities.
• Maintain a smoothly running household environment to promote wellbeing.
• Encourage and nurture the residents' independence and daily routines.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate demonstrates genuine care for those they support, viewing the role as a meaningful vocation rather than just a job. You should be warm, reliable, proactive, and maintain a calm, respectful demeanor. Experience thriving in a homely setting and fostering positive atmospheres is essential.

Requirements

• Experience working within disability services and/or the NDIS framework.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR.
• Possession of a valid NDIS Worker Screening Check and Blue Card.
• Hold a current driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
• Completion of Certificate III or IV in Individual Support or equivalent qualification.

Additional Information

• Shifts include 8-hour blocks with opportunities for sleepovers.
• A stable, consistent roster without travel between multiple clients.
• Employment terms follow the SCHADS Award with applicable penalty rates.
• Preference for female applicants due to specific personal care needs.
