Job description
Role Overview
This position is ideal for professionals comfortable inspecting residential properties, discussing repair scopes with builders, and ensuring timely progression of repairs. As a Home Assessor, you will mainly conduct site visits to evaluate damaged homes, determine the appropriate repair approach, and document the repair plan. While many assignments involve on-site investigations, some inspections are performed remotely from your desktop. Maintaining strong relationships with customers and repair networks while delivering exceptional service to uphold brand reputation are essential.
Your service region covers Rockhampton, Mackay, and nearby areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough damage inspections on location, make informed decisions, and clearly document repair recommendations to facilitate work continuation.
- Collaborate and negotiate with builders to resolve disputes regarding repair scopes, keeping repair timelines on track.
- Communicate outcomes directly to customers, provide clear explanations about the next steps, and address any inquiries.
- Manage a daily schedule that includes new and active claims, balancing site inspections, scope creation, follow-ups, and paperwork.
- Utilize digital systems daily to complete all necessary reporting tasks.
- Be prepared for occasional national travel to support catastrophe response efforts as needed.
Candidate Profile
- Background as an Insurance Assessor, Loss Adjuster, Builder, Restoration Specialist, or Estimator with experience in repair scoping and direct customer and builder engagement; or
- Experience in Desktop Home Assessing or management roles within home claims processing.

- Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Comfortable and competent in using computer technology and software systems relevant to the role.
