Hitch Service Technician

Position Overview

Do you enjoy hands-on work and want to develop valuable technical expertise? U-Haul seeks a diligent and skilled individual for the role of Hitch Service Technician. You will work on U-Haul Moving and Storage Center lots to provide excellent customer service by leveraging advanced technical knowledge related to towing assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

• Comprehend and clearly convey details about the various towing package options offered by U-Haul.
• Advise customers on the appropriate towing assembly and install it on their vehicles.
• Generate purchase invoices for services rendered.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position involves moderate occupational risks requiring safety measures due to exposure to moving machinery parts, vehicle fumes, or irritant chemicals. Use of personal protective equipment such as masks, goggles, gloves, or face shields may be mandatory.

The role demands physical stamina, including remaining in one place for extended periods both indoors and outdoors, maneuvering in tight spaces, adjusting position to use various tools, and the capability to lift or assist in lifting weights up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds).

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record suitable for operating commercial motor vehicles
• Basic experience with wiring and proficiency using hand and power tools
• High school diploma or an equivalent certification
