Role Summary
This full-time, on-site Health Inspector position is located in Haveri, Karnataka, India. The inspector's primary responsibility will be to perform scheduled and focused inspections within healthcare facilities to verify compliance with established health, safety, and sanitation criteria. Tasks include assessing occupational health risks, reviewing policies and documentation, identifying any violations, and delivering comprehensive inspection reports. The role requires cooperation with supervisory and clinical personnel to guide corrective measures and conduct follow-up audits to confirm improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular and targeted inspections of healthcare establishments, their equipment, and surrounding environments.
- Evaluate occupational health hazards and safety risks within these facilities.
- Analyze documentation, operational procedures, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Identify and report non-compliance or safety issues, providing clear and actionable recommendations.
- Liaise effectively with facility supervisors and medical staff to promote adherence to health and safety protocols.
- Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and perform follow-ups to ensure compliance.
- Stay informed on current public health laws, guidelines, and safety practices.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions and contribute to the enhancement of safety policies.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety principles applicable to healthcare settings.
- Experience in conducting inspections including site visits, risk identification, and hazard documentation.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health regulations and methods to mitigate workplace hazards.
- Training or experience in Environment Health and Safety, emphasizing environmental compliance and safe operations.
- Ability to supervise, coordinate with facility personnel, and influence safe work habits.
- Relevant diploma or degree in public health, environmental health, occupational safety, or a related discipline.
- Proficient in interpreting regulations, composing detailed reports, and communicating clearly with diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and meticulous attention to detail with commitment to unbiased and ethical inspection practices.
