The treasury leader maintains vigilant liquidity control and delivers timely, precise cash and debt visibility to both the CFO and senior leadership, ensuring the seamless operational flow of banking facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day cash positioning for all business sectors, overseeing cash reporting, pooling, and strict disbursement controls.

- Develop and maintain accurate short, medium, and long-term cash flow forecasts with thorough variance analyses.
- Provide detailed treasury reports relating to cash, liquidity, debt levels, banking limits, and utilization rates.
- Monitor financial covenants and available headroom, alerting management of any breaches.
- Offer proactive warnings for funding or liquidity concerns.
- Administer trade finance products including Letters of Credit, guarantees, bill discounting, and supplier/buyer finance, aligned with commodity and inventory financing.
- Facilitate procurement and sales operations with cost-effective financing solutions.
- Collaborate with business units to optimize the cash conversion cycle and working capital usage.
- Manage banking relationships and communication at operational levels.
- Assist the CFO in negotiating, restructuring, and refinancing banking facilities by preparing financial models, data, and lender presentations.
- Maintain comprehensive registers of facilities including contractual terms, pricing, collateral, and maturity details.
- Handle documentation, sanction letters, collateral arrangements, and bank inquiries with precision and timeliness.
- Support expansion and strengthening of banking networks under the CFO’s guidance.
- Monitor exposures to interest rate, foreign exchange, and liquidity risks, reporting significant risks to the CFO.
- Execute authorized hedging operations within approved limits.
- Maintain treasury payment controls and safeguard company funds.
- Develop and enforce treasury policies, controls, and approval processes.
- Assist with treasury systems selection and implementation to enhance operational efficiency and control.
- Ensure compliance with banking covenants and internal governance.
- Lead and mentor treasury analysts or team members.
- Work collaboratively with FP&A, accounting, tax, and finance teams across business units.
Success Criteria
- Dependable, timely cash forecasts and reports supporting executive decision-making.
- Strict liquidity control with prompt escalation of any concerns.
- Effective assistance in financing negotiations and restructuring processes.
- Comprehensive and accurate facility and covenant management without lender reporting lapses.
- Smooth daily banking operations and documentation management.
- Contributions toward reducing interest expenses and achieving better financing terms.
- Established robust treasury governance, policies, and systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Professional finance certification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or an MBA with a finance focus; strong consideration given to part-qualified candidates with relevant expertise.
- Credential in treasury management (e.g., CTP or ACT qualifications like AMCT) is beneficial.
- Between 8 and 12 years' experience in finance, with a strong emphasis on treasury functions including cash management, forecasting, banking, and trade finance.
- Hands-on knowledge of bank facilities, trade finance tools, and lender covenant reporting.
- Experience in supporting debt and banking facility negotiations or restructurings by preparing analyses and lender communications is highly advantageous.
