Job description

About the Role

Sharp & Carter is collaborating with a well-established, sizable organisation to recruit a Head of Pricing for a key leadership position. This role oversees a diverse portfolio of products, customer segments, and distribution channels, acting as the pricing authority within the company. You will work closely with senior leaders across Finance, Sales, and Marketing departments.

This position goes beyond managing pricing execution; it involves cultivating an organisational mindset around pricing by delivering frameworks, commercial insights, and expert guidance aimed at boosting sustainable revenue growth and margin enhancement.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing actionable pricing frameworks, methodologies, and decision-making tools.
  • Offering expert advice on complex, strategic pricing matters.
  • Collaborating with Finance, Sales, and Marketing to pinpoint opportunities that enhance price realization and profitability.
  • Evaluating customer value, segmentation, willingness to pay, and potential for price differentiation.
  • Inspecting pricing models across various products, channels, and customer groups.
  • Identifying causes of margin erosion including excessive discounting or pricing inconsistencies.
  • Applying expertise in price-volume-mix analysis, elasticity, discount strategies, and scenario planning.
  • Critically assessing assumptions and forecasting impacts on revenue, volume, product mix, and margin.
  • Enhancing pricing capabilities within commercial teams through training and support.
  • Delivering clear, commercially grounded recommendations to senior stakeholders based on detailed analyses.

Candidate Profile

This opportunity fits an experienced pricing or commercial leader with a balance of strong analytical skills and commercial judgment. Ideal candidates will possess substantial background in pricing strategy, revenue management, finance, or commercial strategy in complex organisations.

Industries such as consumer goods, manufacturing, retail, distribution, or other product-driven sectors, especially those involving multiple customer segments or both B2B and B2C channels, are highly preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of pricing strategy, architecture, segmentation, and value capture.
  • Strong financial and commercial insight.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable commercial decisions.
  • Proven success influencing senior leaders without formal authority.
  • Confidence to challenge established perspectives constructively.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation capabilities.
  • Experience establishing frameworks that enhance commercial competence across organisations.

Opportunity Highlights

This strategic role offers the chance to shape commercial decision-making across an extensive and multifaceted business. You will collaborate with top-tier commercial stakeholders across business units and enjoy the freedom to develop pricing capabilities as well as uncover value opportunities that meaningfully influence revenue and margin.

For senior pricing professionals seeking a role with expansive influence, intricate challenges, and substantial commercial impact, this is an exceptional prospect.
