Job description
Role Overview
The Head of Events will lead the planning and management of organizational events, implementing strategies that align with the broader mission while reinforcing the brand identity.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute long-term event strategies that support organizational goals and brand positioning.
- Design, organize, and supervise event production processes to ensure impactful and timely events within budget and quality parameters.
- Assist in creating and refining Standard Operating Procedures, policies, and formats for events to maintain process consistency.
- Oversee comprehensive event project plans across various types such as community, national, and corporate events, ensuring clear scope definition.
- Manage full event logistics including venue, entertainment, program setup, invitations, catering, audiovisuals, security, media services, signage, documentation, and giveaways.
- Direct all event execution activities, from venue selection and booking to technical arrangements.
- Coordinate with communications and internal teams to secure adequate staffing and resources for smooth event operations.
- Foster productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to facilitate collaboration and event success.
- Lead and support the event team in achieving project delivery targets.
- Track event requests through communication channels, following up on pending actions and submitting monthly reports to management.
- Conduct evaluations post-events using qualitative and quantitative measures against predetermined goals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
- Coordinate internal audits, oversee implementation of corrective measures, and monitor their outcomes.
- Manage daily event team operations and projects, providing senior leadership with regular progress and outcome reports.
- Collaborate on developing annual business plans, KPIs, scorecards, and event budgets aligned with corporate strategy.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Communications, Marketing, Business Management, or a related discipline is required.
- Between 6 and 8 years of full-time relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role overseeing events or programs within a large organization.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, business development, budgeting, and quality assurance.
- Up-to-date knowledge of analysis, concept development, change management, coaching, performance monitoring, data evaluation, and reporting practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal abilities including communication, presentation, conflict resolution, teamwork, customer service, and negotiation skills.
- Strong command of spoken and written English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite applications.
