Head of Engineering

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced and visionary Head of Engineering to lead and grow our technology division located in Goregaon West, Mumbai. In this senior leadership position, you will take ownership of the entire engineering function encompassing architecture, project delivery, team development, and fostering a culture of excellence. You will work closely with the CEO and other cross-functional leaders to ensure our product ecosystem remains innovative, scalable, and of the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate, implement, and articulate a comprehensive technology vision and strategy in collaboration with management and business stakeholders.
• Lead strategic planning and prioritization across teams to define clear milestones and delivery schedules.
• Oversee, guide, and mentor a diverse team including architects, leads, engineers, and testers.
• Develop transparent risk management and governance processes.
• Ensure the security and confidentiality of organizational and client data.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, leads, and DevOps to set standard development practices and validate project plans and sprint assumptions.
• Establish and maintain a performance-oriented culture consistently across the engineering organization.

Desired Experience and Skills

• At least 15 years of experience in Information Technology with substantial leadership expertise.
• Exceptional communication abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of current technological trends in software development.
• Experience driving AI-based transformation and automation initiatives.
• Practical experience with Microsoft and open-source technologies as well as AWS Cloud infrastructure.
• Strong expertise in logical database design and development, particularly Microsoft SQL.
• Proven track record developing critical web-based applications.
• Proficiency in agile and scrum methodologies with experience championing these practices.
• Knowledge of project management frameworks and tools.
• Familiarity with open-source technologies such as PHP, MySQL, Python, and Odoo is advantageous.
• A strong desire to learn, innovate, and achieve exceptional results by going beyond standard efforts.
