About the Role
T&G Global Limited is embarking on an exciting evolution in technology and is forming a leadership team to guide the future of how the company works and grows globally. At the core of this transformation is the development of robust platforms, data management, and advanced technology infrastructures that support current operations and foster innovation.
We are in search of a seasoned Head of Data & Platform Engineering to spearhead our capabilities around data analytics, AI, IoT, cloud, and foundational technology platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the strategic vision and long-term planning for data, analytics, AI, IoT, cloud services, and technology platforms.
- Lead enterprise-wide data and analytics platforms to ensure data is reliable and accessible for both day-to-day operations and strategic planning.
- Create and manage the necessary platforms and resources for AI and advanced data analytics with a focus on ethical AI practices.
- Direct IoT platform initiatives that bridge physical assets and operational technology with enterprise IT and data systems.
- Provide comprehensive oversight of Azure, AWS, on-premises infrastructure, and corporate networking.
- Implement modern platform engineering methodologies, including automation and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Enhance platform stability, including monitoring, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and cost transparency.
- Collaborate closely with Cyber Security teams to integrate security principles from design through implementation.
- Handle key vendor and cloud provider relationships to optimize platform performance and cost.
- Foster talent development, clear career progression, and a strong culture within data, platform, infrastructure, and engineering teams.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have extensive leadership experience in technology bridging data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and operational technology.
- Proven track record leading complex hybrid IT environments encompassing data platforms and platform engineering.
- Strong understanding of maintaining and modernizing reliable technology infrastructure.
- Expertise in enterprise data analytics platforms, cloud technologies, and contemporary engineering approaches.
- Additional experience in IoT, advanced analytics, and operational technology environments is highly desirable.
- Commercial acumen to manage major technology investments, vendor partnerships, and platform budgets effectively.
