About the Role
Our client, a major technology-driven company with substantial investments in AI, data modernization, and intelligent automation, seeks a Head of AI Data Platform & Engineering. This role involves taking enterprise-wide ownership of AI and data platforms and offers significant leadership and growth prospects.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement long-term strategies for enterprise data platforms supporting AI, analytics, and digital transformation.
- Oversee the design and deployment of reusable data products, shared services, and information assets for multiple business areas.
- Implement modern methods for data discovery, knowledge management, metadata handling, and enterprise search to enhance access to reliable information.
- Develop scalable systems for retrieval, indexing, and contextualization to boost the performance and reliability of AI applications.
- Set architectural standards across data platforms, pipelines, storage, integration, and AI services.
- Collaborate with business and technology leaders to prioritize investment and speed up delivery of impactful AI initiatives.
- Establish governance frameworks addressing data quality, security, lineage, privacy, compliance, and ethical AI usage.
- Lead and nurture cross-functional teams comprising data engineering, platform engineering, information management, and governance specialists.
- Ensure platform reliability, observability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Continuously assess new technologies and trends to enhance enterprise AI and data capabilities.
Required Qualifications & Expertise
- Demonstrated success in developing and scaling enterprise-wide data platforms that facilitate AI, advanced analytics, and digital product delivery, preferably in Finance, Telecom, Technology, or similarly regulated sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of contemporary data architecture, data engineering, and cloud-based ecosystems in complex, large organizations.
- Hands-on experience with AI-supporting technologies such as knowledge graphs, semantic layers, vector databases, enterprise search, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures.
- Proven ability to institute data governance structures covering data quality, metadata, lineage, privacy, security, and adherence to regulatory obligations.
- Experience managing sizable, multidisciplinary teams across data engineering, platform engineering, information management, and governance roles.
