Handyperson - Full Time (Pre-Opening)

About the Role

At Andaz Gold Coast, we believe that it's the fine details that leave a lasting impression. We are seeking a reliable and resourceful Handyperson to be a key part of our Engineering team. This essential position involves maintaining guest rooms, public areas, and all behind-the-scenes spaces, ensuring they are in excellent working order and presenting a welcoming environment for both guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel premises.
• Perform tasks related to painting, plastering, carpentry, tiling, and simple plumbing.
• Respond quickly and efficiently to requests for maintenance assistance.
• Support scheduled preventative maintenance initiatives to avoid equipment failures.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep in guest accommodations, public zones, and operational back-of-house areas.
• Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and protocols while working.
• Collaborate with fellow employees and external contractors to solve maintenance issues promptly.
• Keep work areas tidy, organized, and professional at all times.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in a maintenance, handyperson, or facilities role is essential.
• Possess practical skills in general building repairs and property upkeep.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and pride in workmanship.
• Good communication skills coupled with effective time management.
• Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively within a team setting.
• Commitment to maintaining safety standards and delivering quality results.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekend shifts as needed.
• Trade certifications are advantageous though not mandatory.
• Must have valid and current work authorization for Australia.
