Job Overview

This position involves performing a variety of general building maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the proper functioning and appearance of the facility.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct minor plumbing repairs and maintenance on faucets, lavatories, water closets, valves, and replace flush valves, faucet seats, washers, shower valves or heads as needed.
• Remove toilets and replace wax rings and grouting where necessary.
• Diagnose and fix minor telephone and internet issues.
• Repair electronic door locks and safes when problems arise.
• Fix small carpet damages including tears and burns, as well as perform wallpaper repairs.
• Replace light bulbs and address minor lighting malfunctions.
• Repair and adjust cabinet components such as pulls, knobs, and align drawers, along with other minor furniture repairs.
• Clean or replace air conditioning filters regularly.
• Fix minor door problems.
• Perform painting and pressure cleaning on assigned areas.
• Carry out grounds maintenance duties.
• Execute preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Complete other general building maintenance assignments.
• Participate in departmental meetings as required.
• Work may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Assist in other operational areas of the building or complex when requested.
• Frequently required to stand and use hands for mechanical tasks, handle tools and controls, walk, reach, climb ladders or scaffolds, and lift/move objects weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Maintain the ability to comprehend instructions by listening and understanding English.
• Maintain good vision and hearing to detect emergency signs.
• Capable of standing for extended durations.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• At least one year of verified experience in building maintenance or construction demonstrating mechanical aptitude.
• Effective verbal communication skills and some familiarity with computers.
