Job Overview

We seek an experienced Guidewire PolicyCenter Configuration Developer to design, configure, and expand PolicyCenter functionalities tailored to Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance demands. Collaborating with business analysts, architects, integration specialists, QA teams, and DevOps, this role will support new product rollouts, rating and quoting workflows, binding operations, and enterprise system integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and develop PolicyCenter components including entities, typelists, product models (lines of business, coverables, modifiers), rating worksheets, user interfaces (PCFs), workflows, and business rules.
• Write Gosu code for rules, enhancements, and plugins, extending data models as necessary and maintaining rating mechanisms including rating engine, tables, pricing, discounts, and surcharges.
• Implement and sustain batch jobs and messaging services interfacing with downstream systems such as billing, claims, documentation generation, CRM, and data warehousing.
• Develop unit tests, engage in code reviews, participate in system integration and user acceptance testing, and assist in defect resolution adhering to Guidewire standards and best practices.
• Contribute to continuous integration and deployment pipelines and automate deployment processes in collaboration with DevOps.
• Work alongside business analysts to refine user stories, define acceptance criteria, estimate effort, identify risks, and actively participate in Agile sprint ceremonies.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including design specs, integration guides, and deployment runbooks.
• Support production environments with troubleshooting, performance tuning, environment security, and recommend enhancements for scalability and maintenance.

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field with at least 3 years of pertinent experience.
• Between 4 to 6 years specializing in Guidewire PolicyCenter configuration and Gosu programming.
• Strong practical expertise with Gosu language, PCF (Page Configuration Files), PolicyCenter data models (entities and typelists), business rules, workflows, product modeling, and rating processes.
• Experience implementing integration patterns including SOAP, REST, event handling, messaging, and batch processing, and familiarity with Guidewire Studio and databases like Oracle or SQL Server.
• Solid understanding of the P&C insurance policy lifecycle, encompassing new business, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, reinstatements, rewrites, and mid-term adjustments.
• Domain knowledge in either Commercial or Personal Lines insurance.
• Experience in Agile development methodologies, Git version control, branching models, and coding review procedures.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Guidewire Cloud deployments and cloud-specific services.
• Familiarity with BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, and cross-application integrations.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, build tools like Maven or Gradle, artifact repositories like Artifactory, and foundational containerization knowledge.
• Skills in performance analysis and optimization including heap and garbage collection tuning as well as query performance enhancement.
