Group Treasury Operations Officer

About the Role

Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited is inviting applications for the role of Group Treasury Operations Officer to join their Group Treasury Operations team based in Kingston. This position offers a dynamic and rewarding career path within a stable and expanding financial services organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare daily Global Debt Templates (GDT) for upload into the Clearwater system.
• Verify that all trade transactions included in daily files match entries in Clearwater's system.
• Monitor Recon Insight daily to respond to any queries from Clearwater within 24 hours.
• Follow up on coupon payments and maturity payments that are due but not yet processed.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of securities registers, broker statements, Clearwater data, GDT templates, and Bloomberg records to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Provide Clearwater with variable bond pricing as required.
• Supply pricing information for fixed income trades on overseas markets to Clearwater.
• Assist with maintaining the securities register managed by Sagicor Life Jamaica (SLJ).
• Update, allocate, and reconcile Group Treasury positions using Bloomberg.
• Monitor activity on both overseas and local broker accounts to confirm all changes are correctly recorded.
• Provide necessary support for other settlement-related functions throughout the business day.
• Perform additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Management Studies, or related field from a recognized tertiary institution or an equivalent qualification.
• At least two years of employment experience in a financial institution.
• Completion of the Jamaican Securities Course is considered an asset.
• Proficiency in computer software including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
• Exceptional accuracy and close attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated integrity and a solid work ethic.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks independently and meet deadlines.
• Adaptability to shifting priorities and changing environments.
• Knowledge of local and international settlement systems.
• Strong skills in building and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues at all levels, external stakeholders, and officials from both public and private sectors.
