Ground Worker / Labourer

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in site preparation operations such as clearing, leveling, and excavation of ground areas
• Safely and efficiently load and unload materials, equipment, and tools
• Support skilled tradespeople by promptly supplying necessary tools and materials
• Keep the work area clean and orderly by disposing of waste and debris properly
• Adhere strictly to safety guidelines including consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Assist with installation of barriers, signage, and other safety precautions around the site
• Carry out basic upkeep and maintenance of tools and equipment to ensure they function correctly

Qualifications & Requirements

• Capable of performing physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
• Presents a strong work ethic, positive outlook, and ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Effective communication skills for following instructions accurately
• Basic knowledge of construction site health and safety protocols
• Previous construction or manual labor experience is beneficial but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is crucial
• Possession of a CSCS card is advantageous but not essential

Working Hours

The workweek is Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, including a 45-minute unpaid break daily.
