Role Overview
The Grocery Associate position at Walmart Canada offers a valuable opportunity to develop skills in a busy retail setting. The role involves delivering outstanding customer service aligned with Walmart's core values, maintaining a clean and well-organized grocery section, supporting inventory restocking, and aiding sales initiatives. Team members contribute to ensuring the store remains customer-ready and fosters a positive shopping atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and correct zoning of the grocery department to ensure it is consistently ready for customers.
- Rotate stock regularly, removing expired or damaged items to uphold product freshness and quality.
- Accurately price and sign merchandise, adhering to established procedures concerning ordering, pricing adjustments, clearance, and labeling.
- Comply with food safety, sanitation, and cleaning protocols to sustain a safe and hygienic work environment.
- Ensure full stocking of the department through restocking, downstocking, product protection, and execution of modular displays including flex modulars and shelf caps.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety policies to maintain a hazard-free and clean workplace.
- Be flexible to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, supporting smooth store operations.
Challenges of the Role
- Manage a high volume of tasks efficiently within a fast-paced environment, particularly during overnight hours, maintaining focus and energy.
- Perform repetitive physical activities such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting inventory up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Compensation
The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.40.
