Role Overview
This position is part of our Dubai Films division and involves managing the lighting and rigging aspects during film production under the supervision of a key grip.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the camera crew to facilitate camera support tasks.
- Operate camera dollies and cranes for smooth camera movements.
- Coordinate with the electrical department to establish lighting setups for scenes.
- Construct and maintain camera support equipment including tripods, dollies, tracks, cranes, and static rigs.
- Handle assembly of heavy equipment and operate control levers and wheels to maneuver cranes and booms.
- Ensure fluidity and precision of camera movements during shoots.
- Set up sound equipment, electrical systems, wardrobe, and props as required.
- Verify lighting adequacy tailored to each scene's needs.
- Load and unload filming equipment on location effectively.
- Carry out equipment maintenance, cleaning, and necessary repairs.
- Repair and fabricate tents, tarps, scrims, and backings by sewing materials as needed.
- Cut gelatin and fiberglass diffusers to manage light diffusion.
- Dismantle scaffolding and frames safely post-shoot.
- Construct prefabricated dressing rooms and apply canvas covers to protect equipment from weather elements.
- Use hand tools to perform light fixes on-site.
Requirements
- Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in film production or related settings is essential.
