Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a GRC Lead to serve as the central governance, risk, and compliance contact across multiple departments including Product, Technology, Finance, Legal, AML/CFT, Fraud, Operations, and external partners. This role involves developing and sustaining risk management frameworks and compliance policies specific to FinTech initiatives and digital financial services.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of coordination for GRC matters within various internal teams and external collaborators.
- Design, implement, and update governance frameworks, policies, and control standards for digital financial services.
- Oversee comprehensive credit-risk governance for lending products, managing credit policy, underwriting rules, exposure controls, collections risk, and portfolio performance.
- Continuously monitor portfolio metrics such as quality, delinquency rates, roll rates, non-performing loans, loss recovery, vintage performance, and early-warning indicators; initiate corrective measures as needed.
- Set risk appetite levels, credit limits, escalation protocols, and ensure proper governance and management reporting.
- Collaborate with Product and Technology teams to integrate credit risk, fraud prevention, compliance, consent, and regulatory controls within customer and merchant workflows.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments for new offerings, partnerships, marketing, and operational procedures.
- Establish controls for fraud detection, transaction monitoring, and incident management with shared-service teams.
- Manage regulatory readiness activities including licensing documentation, policy documentation, reporting, audit preparedness, and supervisory responses.
- Define governance forums, approval hierarchies, risk reporting structures, and management-level committee documentation.
- Maintain comprehensive records of risk registers, control deficiencies, policy exceptions, incidents, audit results, and remediation actions; ensure timely closure with accountable parties.
- Develop practical compliance procedures and conduct awareness sessions for cross-functional teams such as Product, Operations, and Customer Care.
- Perform additional projects and tasks assigned by the Line Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Law, Economics or related disciplines.
- Advanced degrees such as an MBA or Master’s in Risk or Finance are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Certifications like CAMS, FRM, CRCM, or similar credentials in risk and compliance are a plus.
- Between 8 and 12 years of professional experience in credit risk, lending risk, risk governance or regulatory roles within FinTech, banking, consumer finance, payments or related regulated financial services.
- Demonstrated practical expertise in digital credit and lending risk management including underwriting, affordability analysis, exposure control, portfolio monitoring, delinquency handling, collections, and loss analytics.
- Solid background in regulatory compliance, risk framework development, policy design, control implementation, risk registries, and reporting.
- Familiarity with AML/CFT, sanctions, electronic KYC, fraud risk handling, transaction monitoring, and consumer protection regulations.
- Experience in supporting regulatory processes such as licensing, audits, inspections or supervisory hearings.
