Job Overview
The Grade Checker will be responsible for verifying and maintaining correct levels, grades, elevations, slopes, and alignments in road and infrastructure projects. Working in close cooperation with Surveyors, Engineers, and Foremen, this role ensures that construction activities adhere precisely to approved drawings, project specifications, and required tolerances. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in roadwork, earthmoving, excavation, subgrades, drainage, and various infrastructure tasks.
Key Duties
- Verify and maintain project-required levels, grades, slopes, and elevations as specified.
- Interpret survey drawings, plans, and technical specifications accurately.
- Collaborate closely with Surveyors, Foremen, and Site Engineers to confirm correct levels and alignments.
- Inspect formation levels, subgrade, road surfaces, drainage installations, and related civil engineering works.
- Supervise grading and excavation operations, ensuring activities comply with approved plans.
- Utilize measurement and leveling tools to confirm elevations and gradients.
- Detect and report any level or grade inconsistencies to supervisors.
- Ensure all work complies accurately with project requirements.
- Adhere strictly to the company’s health, safety, and environmental procedures at the site.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least three years of relevant experience performing as a Grade Checker in civil construction.
- Proven background in roadworks, infrastructure projects, earthworks, and general civil construction.
- Strong understanding of levels, elevations, slopes, gradients, and road formation processes.
- Competence in reading civil and road construction drawings.
- Experience using leveling instruments and fundamental surveying equipment.
- Good communication abilities and coordination skills.
- Work experience in UAE or GCC projects is highly valued.
